Edison Chen Again

I had a horrible feeling trawling through the gossip sites covering the Edison Chen photo scandal - particularly Hollywood Grind which is now on my must-read list though not on my feeds - that maybe Edison Chen didn’t exist.
What if the Edison Chen photo scandal is a monumental fake?
Evidence in favour comes in the comments list on Hollywood Grind - these rich people need to invest in grooming, said one commenter, these photos are horrible. And indeed one young lady looks as though she has a stick-on Groucho Marx moustache in one of them, no prizes for guessing what she’s doing, while another needs to apply a little clearasil to her ass before she shows it off again. Chen on the other hand needs to trim. Surely film stars and starlets take care of these things routinely though. Surely they at least wash?
So looking at all the available evidence is there really a photo scandal out there in Hong Kong? Or is it all part of the new Matrix world we inhabit, with a thousand photos all in a stream being fed into immobile heads stuck in a few million pods? Surely I was thinking this a.m. we cannot be mugged like this?
The ridiculous part about the scandal is this. The only reason I believe it to be real is because I read it in the Financial Times.
I’m as sceptical as the next man when it comes to trusting newspapers - but the FT has to be straight. Could it be an early April Fools? Are we witnessing the ultimate in news manipulation? No and no. I’m sorry to admit it - I rely on newsprint to tell me what is really happening in the world.
