Churnalism

Churnalism is Nick Davies’ account of what passes for news these days in newspapers - PR cycling or churn. “An Award-winning Reporter Exposes Falsehood, Distortion and Propaganda in the Global Media.” That’s what the sub-title of Flat Earth News says.

Here you’ll find Peter Preston ex-editor of the Guardian taking him apart.

This is the Spectator delighting in the book with a particularly mischievous point of view:

“….newspapers have an unwritten compact that they never, under any circumstances, expose each other — one reason why Robert Maxwell and Conrad Black remained in business for so long.”
