Mutual Art is upcoming January. Why is it interesting? It seems to me to be the first application of deep semantics to a consumer web community. Mutual Art links galleries to collectors and it provides all the in betweens. Artist profiles, thousands of publications, video etc. The trick, I’m told, is that it will machine-learn my preferences. I am so happy about that.
What it does at the same time is makes old fashioned portals possible and viable again. Will it be a kick-back against social media? That’s what I’m asking myself.
