This too via IWantMedia:
“Slate, the online magazine owned by the Washington Post Co., is launching a 2008 Political Futures database, which aims to harness the “wisdom of crowds” to forecast the outcome of 2008 U.S. Presidential and Congressional races. Slate will publish hourly updates of key data.”
Problem is according to the book Freakonomics most elections are won by the guy who is already the most popular. No, I don’t quite get it either but the book shows that campaign spending has little effect on election outcome. Will Slate’s initiative make any difference either? or is it like any newspaper’s election gimmicks. We wait and see.
