It’s International Ruminators Day

Actually it’s International Women’s Day and I’ve been brooding about what kind of international day would improve my own career prospects because one of the features of international women’s day is a new website - where women want to work. The site is sponsored by a variety of global employers such as Google and Canon. It’s a great initiative but of course some of us are not women.

What do you do then if you’re not a woman but still feel under-served by the global job’s market? I’ve taken accidentally to living out my wife’s IM presence. People come online and say Hello Roos, how ya doing? I have to answer: virtually cross-dressing actually. My sister thought it was Roos wearing my real trousers when in fact it was just me in the ordinary day clothes.

Without going too far down this line what kind of job website would serve people who like to spend a lot of time thinking, ruminating, generally doing very little other than dreaming about what could be done without making a commitment to changing anything in particular? I’ll give it some more thought.
