Last FM

Last FM got some good coverage at the the Content 2.0 conference so I went over to take a look. The question upper most in my mind with social media is will it work outside music and movies? Music has had such a powerful impact across the web driving MySpace and no doubt soon driving Last FM into My Space type territory (they already have 10 m a day visits) and dragging clips along with it. But life is about more than music and let’s face it delicious, digg, newsvine etc have done a pretty good job with text and news.

Having said that digg seems to be suffering when it steps out of tech and political news and netscape I hear is under severe pressure so my question remains: how valid are they outside music and clips? And by the way, is Lastfm the next myspace?
