Mobile Movie Making Before Video Calls

It’s a surprise to see analysts focus on the mobile video phone call. The use of the mobile with video other than simply for recording is likely to take off in unexpected ways.

Already mobile video movies are becoming well established. One of many mobile movie festivals has just ended in Paris and there is now a dedicated mobile movie channel.

“Some 8,500 visitors attended screenings at the recent three-day Pocket Films Festival at Paris’ Pompidou modern-art museum. In addition to nearly 100 shorts, the fare included three feature-length films - all shot on cells.”

I don’t say these will ever become the mainstay of revenues from mobile but consider situations where there is a large contributor base to a project of mutual value to a group - say for example a City of London commute guide where passengers can build a daily overview of commute conditions across the city - sending in mobile video clips of snarl-ups.

Maybe not the best example but somewhere in here are a host of applications collaboratively built that will involve the dynamic use of mobile video, frequently.
