Internet TV Aggregators - Are They Building the Right Model

The success of JUMP TV in getting onto the stock markets is probably going to encourage more venture capitalists to back Internet TV aggregators. I’m not convinced. TVeXT was launched back in April and looks to be slowly attracting channels but it also looks like hard going.
TVeXT has the ambition of providing an eclectic group […]

Welcoming Visitors from Other Language Groups

Diversifying Views at My Name is Kate

There are few blogs in the technology sector (OK, I don’t know many of them) that take the trouble to express opinion on a range of issues but one such is My Name is Kate.
Something’s going on in the Canadian blog community that makes it stand out from a lot else that’s going on.
I […]

On The Issue of Fairness

Last week a small debate began about the benefits of vlogging opposed to blogging and it fizzled out around issues of access. If you can’t write well, maybe you should vlog or podcast?
It got me thinking in a wider vein what we’re trying to achieve with web logging of any kind.

Performancing.com is a blog community designed to professionalise blogs. Here’s what they say and in the recent tradition of starting arguments I will say after what I find wrong with it - though I also find things right.
“Performancing.com is a group weblog written by professional bloggers, for professional bloggers. The emphasis at performancing is […]

Underground TV - More Content

Underground TV is a new music channel that Akimbo distributes but which has its own website over here.
The site is dedicated to heavy metal and rock. I don’t much like that kind of music but the site is well put together and my guess is for enthusiasts it’s a place to go.

Techcrush Problems

America found ways of trademarking everyday phrases. Americans patent software. Techcrunch seems to be the one putting the squeeze on techcrush - the issue we blogged earlier.
Techcrush checks out techcrunched sites 6 and 12 months after they got the Arrington breeze through.
I see a big swing over the pond. I’ve had Jay Rosen on […]

Under the Scroll Bar

As the day wears on I’m wondering what do visitors do below the scroll bar, if anything. So as I won’t post again today I though I’d just point out that below the scroll bar you have Jay Rosen commenting on a post about his New Assignment.net; you have a post on how google […]

Quaero - The Google Challenge That Never Will Be.

Extra $600m for Google’s State Funded European Competitor

“Being an entrepreneur, I am skeptical of the entrepreneurship and creative skills of publicly funded committees. Few creative class capabilities are being harnessed by the Quaero consortium.” That’s from the guys at EUCAP.
I have a bit of history with the EU audio-visual search community so I can expand […]
