is the ‘how to’ post. Walk your readers through a process that teaches them how to achieve a goal they might have and they’re more likely to want to bookmark it. Again as I scan the current list I see a number of titles that indicate that the links will teach or guide readers through a particular issue. Often the titles use the actual words ‘how to…’ in them. Others use ‘Guide to’, ‘Tips to…’ or ‘Tutorials’ etc.

I have no idea how to use del.icio.us. I put a few of my items there from time to time and I tag them. I have no idea if I get traffic from it. So I was surprised to find problogger writing up del-icio.us as a way for people to get links and traffic.
I’m kind of giving up on the idea of using these kinds of tactics too. Being part of a few communities feels more wholesome.
Having said all that what really caught my eye was problogger’s point number 3 copied above. It’s just amazing how many people are responding to how to information all over the web. I wonder about it and find myself occasionally dipping into sites just for a bit of how to. What a great use of the web though.technorati tags:problogger, how-to, blogging, del.icio.us
