Food Blogs are Doing a Bit of Social Networking

As a food blogger in my spare time I’m amazed at how well food blogs are covered in the mainstream media, and of course how elegant many are.
If you leave aside the tech community, blogs seem to have been invented for people to share ideas about basic sustenance and flash restaurants.
Over on foodblogschool foodie bloggers are holding lessons in how to food blog.
I can’t think of a better Web 2.0 application than creating communities that self-help the self-expression urge. Now I’m not saying foodblogschool is a YouTube or netvibes, but maybe it is as important.
Mutual self-help comes before mutual promotion. It’s a great idea and attracts bloggers from all over the world. And to date there are no ads. Advice is comprehensive (it’s basically a forum with threads) and relevant. Other blog verticals could learn a lot from it.
