Podcasts Mashed, Turning into Channels

Yet-to-launch Podango is trying to corner the podcast market by aggregating popular, topic-specific podcasts into expert-driven channels. The goal is to combine multiple podcasts, which may only be publishing weekly, into a 3-5 shows per day channel with a single RSS feed. Just like old-style television and radio stations.

Techcrunch

This one was from techcrunch but it’s really a content story and it follows trends that have been evolving recently.

Podango will be well positioned to take advantage of three trends we’ve noted earlier.

The growth of everyday topics as key drivers of content and audiences, though the guys at Viewdo tell me it’s no easy ride.

The second would be the evolution of the web as a self-help medium coupled to how-to content.

Also evident in podcasting is the possibility of pods becoming part of the IPTV revolution -a natural fit and one that Podango will be in a position to exploit with its more channel orientated approach.
