Resisting the temptation to see the future as being a new world made up only of user generated content, Mediangler goes in search of new content initiatives even if they seem a little old fashioned.

I’m not entirely convinced that the video upload site has such a rosy future nor that clip content has a sustainable or compelling long term interest for people. Like, it’s easy come and easy go.

Durability requires talent, a moral outlook, a voice, and a revelation. Those virtues need seeking out.

Africast is a service that links people who want to raise their consciousness of their African origins. This is what Africast says about itself and its web delivered service.

Our Vision

Many in the world are heralding the dawn of an “African Millennium”. Culturally and politically, Africa is poised to undergo more changes and wield more influence in the world than ever before. However, much of what is visually documented about Africa is a view from outside, seen through eyes that are not African and, in some cases, not Africa friendly. Only if Africans can present their stories to the world will Africa gain renewed respect and authentically express her promising future. Our objective is to provide a global voice for Africans to tell their own stories to the world.

Our Mission

To become the preeminent provider of Africa-focused electronic content via multi-media platforms that offers viewers an entertaining, informative, and interactive experience by providing a mirror for Africans living abroad, a bridge for African Americans, and a window into Africa for worldwide audiences interested in African culture.

They’re also keen to promote programming that is less dominated by violence, explicit sex and bad language. Not a bad to do list.
