Is This the Start of Live Performance Networks?

I find this kind of thing fascinating. It is going to open up the web to live performance in front of controlled audiences, a kind of IPTV that I make in front of you. Of course it will have a seemier side but for people who, for example, now run small reader circles for their stories or for those who are podcasting, how about live IPTV?
PalTalk to offer massive multiperson video for social networks

PalTalk will go live on Monday with a new social networking service designed to be a proof of concept for the inclusion of video chat in social networks. PalTalk already has a thriving business in powering huge video chat rooms but the company believes their technology is the next logical step to create what they call Social Networking 3.0. If the first iteration was basic networking, 2.0 was layering richer self expression on the networks and 3.0 is real time video communication, they say.
This was posted on Techcrunch. It’s a one to keep an eye on because surely one of the new content forms we’re going to see in future will be closed circuit entertainment on social networking sites.
The urge to perform is irrepressible. Take a look at Zilo and see what’s going down on campus. You Tube and the rest could easliy be superceded by live performance on services like Paltalk, and couldn’t it just undermine big media plans for IPTV as well as provide a mechanism for content generation that any number of users could rip and re-use?.
